FFO 001: london-based indie rockers, sea girls

Updated: Aug 3, 2020

ffo (for fans of) is a segment on buzzkill where i chat about a band that i think (if you don't listen to them already) my friends and followers would like a lot. cover image by daniel sullivan.

sea girls are an indie four-piece from london, england. i'm pretty sure i first discovered them when their song "violet" played on the sam fender spotify radio and i fell in love almost instantly. there's something about them that reminds me very distinctly of summertime. their timultuous riffs and lead singer henry camamile's infectious harmonies make every song their best. if you're a fan of bigger bands like sundara karma, blossoms, or circa waves, you'll definitely love sea girls.

they spent the majority of 2019 playing festivals (i still cannot believe i missed their reading set) and opened for foals on the ukrainian and russian dates of the everything not saved will be forgotten tour. they're on track to become one of the biggest acts in the world (they kicked off the new decade as annie mac's hottest record in the world on her show future sounds with their new single "ready for me") and i figured you'd all want to get a leg up while you'll still be able to easily get tickets to see them. you're welcome.

i've added a few of their tracks to our buzzkill playlist (my favorites are "closer," "violet," "damage done," and "all i want to hear you say") but i've also embedded their complete playlist so you can hit shuffle and decide for yourself your favorites from this absolutely unbelievable band.

their newest EP, under exit lights, is now available for preorder and will be streaming on all platforms in march. the uk and eu legs of their under exit lights tour are on sale now (they'll be out on the road from january 21st to february 5th on their european leg, and april 16th to the 23rd in the uk) and i'd really recommend seeing these guys while they're still playing shows this small.
