SINGLE REVIEW: "what molly wants" from bbc introducing berkshire's ones to watch, st. peter's dream

St. Peter's Dream are a four piece indie dream team from Reading, England. Their newest single, "What Molly Wants," sounds like something straight out of a coming-of-age film, electrifying and nostalgia-inducing. The tune is just fun. It seems to follow the traditional indie rock formula of "semi-serious lyrics over loud, distracting guitar," but it does a spectacular job of it, and made me immediately listen to the rest of their singles - and now I'm anticipating what's to come.

Popular among fans of The Academic, Larkins, and Riscas, St. Peter's Dream have been on indie fans in the UK's radars since at least the beginning of this year, when they were named BBC Music Introducing in Berkshire's "Ones to Watch for 2020." I could also be inclined to make comparisons, after listening to "What Molly Wants" on repeat a few times, sonically, to Vistas.

On their latest track, frontman Travis said, “It’s about the realisations and understandings you pick up in your late teens, and how sometimes just from listening to people you can connect some missing pieces.”

Overall, I truly think this is a stellar track, and that this band are, indeed, one to watch. St Peter's Dream can be found on Twitter and Instagram, and "What Molly Wants" can be streamed anywhere you listen to music now!
