SHOW GALLERY: Joywave open for Two Door Cinema Club, Announce Newest Album and Headline Tour in Boston, MA

It's quite the feat as an opener to maintain the attention of a crowd as large as that gathered at Roadrunner this past Tuesday, but it seems that Joywave is still finding ways to enrapture new fans after just shy of 15 years in the business.

Since our last check-in with the group, Joywave has been characteristically busy. With a new collaborative Best Frenz album, The Mall, released last year, and a new single earlier this month, the ever-evolving group keeps finding ways to stretch and grow within the alternative space.

Alongside their prolific release schedule, the Rochester-based group has a seemingly inexhaustible energy when it comes to touring. Playing direct support for the first leg of Two Door Cinema Club's current tour, Joywave made their second stop in Boston less than a year after their most recent headliner in April of 2023, and they aren't stopping there.

Midway through their set, frontman Daniel Armbruster announced that the group will be making their return to Boston this October on a soon-to-be-announced headlining tour, alongside the release of a new full length album. If their latest single "Brain Damage" is any indicator, both the album and adjacent tour won't be one to miss.
