SHOW RECAP + GALLERY: Sun Room brings the heat as they support Inhaler on US tour

Updated: Apr 10, 2023

After a more-than-successful two night run at The Sinclair last summer, Inhaler made their return to Boston earlier last week (St. Patrick’s Day weekend no less) alongside supporting group, Sun Room. This US Leg marks Sun Room’s second tour with Irish rock band Inhaler, and the growth of both groups has been astronomical since the last time the two hit the road together.

Sun Room, formed during the pandemic by brothers Indy and Ashton Minnich, Luke Asgian, and Wyatt Flom, have had immense success since starting to release tracks in July of 2020. With a sound that harkens back to bright and fuzzy 60s surf rock, Sun Room creates something remarkably nostalgic while staying completely modern. Their entire back catalog does an incredible job at making any drive feel like a trip down the PCH on a sunny summer day. It’s just great indie rock.

Seeing them bring their music come to life only fuels this energy more. Fuzzily processed vocals and guitar-fronted indie rock riffs are mirrored by the groups carefree stage presence. The four immediately held the attention of the sold out crowd, playing a set filled with their best, “Sol De Sur”, “Crashed My Bike”, and “Fun” among them. All in all, Sun Room’s set brought a much needed warmth to a cold February night in Boston, and had me craving the summer sun more than ever.

If you’re a fan of groups like FIDLAR, Skeggs, or Circa Waves, definitely give Sun Room a try! This past week, the group released their newest 4 song EP, Outta Their Minds, which I highly recommend adding to your rotation before summertime hits.
